Hawker’s Cove
This idyllic beach is near Padstow, but a thousand miles from the busy streets and tourists filling the fishing village. It’s a treasured local spot, on the mouth of the estuary of the river Camel, just 10 minutes from Music Water.
It’s not the spot if you fancy a surf, as the infamous Doom Bar creates a break out in the estuary. However, if you’re looking for a quiet beach with next to no people and gentle surf, it’s the perfect spot for you.
NOTE – There are no lifeguards on this beach, so we urge all visitors to be careful in the water.
Harlyn Inn
The Harlyn Inn is about as close to the beach as it can be, without being sat on it! It’s only a few miles from the campsite, and right next to the beach – perfect for a bite to eat after a day in the sun!
They offer locally sourced food, with inside and outside seating and a range of local bands playing throughout the summer.
Cherry Trees Coffee House
There is certainly no shortage of places to eat in Padstow, but the Cherry Trees Coffee House is one of our favourites – it offers stunning cakes and delicious breakfasts and lunches. Whether you’re fancying their seafood special – a platter of different seafood dishes; a cream tea with freshly baked scones; or a slice of their berry roulade, you’re definitely in for a treat!
Padstow Farm Shop
Padstow Farm Shop is a bit misleading, as it’s not actually in Padstow – it’s a couple of miles out, down one of the windiest roads in England.
However, if you’re willing to brave the drive, you will be well rewarded. The well stocked shop sells locally grown veg and meat, as well as a huge array of products from local producers – perfect if you’re looking for a special gift.
They also grow their own wheat and make their own pasta with the flour – perfect if you’re looking for something local and a bit more unusual!
Baker Tom’s Wadebridge
If you love really good fresh baked bread, then you’ll love Baker Tom’s!
Baker Tom’s provides fresh, specialty breads, pastries and cakes using traditional baking methods and the finest organic ingredients.
Their bread and pastries aren’t the cheapest, but are totally worth the extra pennies!
BinTwo
This is one for the grownups! BinTwo is Padstow’s wine and coffee bar, with a small menu selected to perfectly suit the wines!
If you’re looking for the perfect spot to share drinks and nibbles, then this may be it! They do a huge range of wines and beers by the glass, and bottles as well – if you like something so much you want to take it away!
